Dr. Maha Habre joined the Alice Ramez Chagoury School of Nursing (ARCSON) in October 2012. She comes to ARCSON after having served as LAU’s Clinical Simulation Center Supervisor.

Dr. Maha Habre has clinical experience in emergency nursing in pre-hospital (first aid) and acute hospital settings. She has served as a registered nurse in the emergency department of the American University of Beirut Medical Center in the Triage, Adult Medical and Surgical, Trauma, Pediatrics, and other emergency specialty areas. Dr. Habre has received distinguished recognition and awards for her nursing care and promotion of nursing excellence, including having achieved the distinction as a Certified Emergency Nurse, through the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing, Illinois, USA. While working for her Master’s degree, Dr. Habre completed clinical residency in acute and critical care advanced practice nursing as a visiting nurse at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Habre has a passion for advancing nursing care in Lebanon, specifically acute and critical care. This passion translates into multiple ventures including certification, graduate education, teaching future nurses as well as practicing nurses, and involvement in research. Dr. Habre is also interested in enhancing the use of simulation in healthcare education to promote safe and excellent nusing care. She advocates for the integration of inter-professional health and social care education.
