“Into the dawn”

5:00 am. Sunday, September 10, 2017. Thirty two nursing students from the nursing club along with Ms. Zeina El Jordi, Nursing Club advisor and ARCSON faculty participated in “Into the dawn”, an annual suicide memorial walk launched by Embrace that aims at providing community support for individuals affected by suicide. Participants walked from Beit Ward restaurant, Raouche to the Raouche Rock, a 1 km distance holding candles. During this walk, a memorial wall is created with photos, keepsakes and/or names of suicide victims.

Embrace is a non-profit organization (NGO) which works to raise awareness around mental health in Lebanon and the Middle East. Embrace seeks to inform and support people who need help by dispelling the myths and misinformation that surround mental illness. It also provides information about the resources available to people who live in Lebanon and raises money to help provide needed treatment and care for people who cannot afford it.
