BSN II Nursing Student Receives Lion’s Club Award

Every year for over a decade the Lion’s Club of Beirut has recognized top students from several of Lebanon’s nursing schools.  The Alice Ramez Chagoury School of Nursing (ARCSON) has participated in the program since 2012. Mr. Hratch Moskofian, junior nursing student, was selected by the ARCSON faculty to receive the 2015 Lion’s Club Award based on his high academic performance and leadership.   He and students from six other schools were recognized at a ceremony sponsored by the Lion’s Club and held on Tuesday, June 16, at Alumni Hall, American University of Beirut.

The theme for the 2015 ceremony was “Nurses as Agents of Change.”  Each student receiving an Award was asked to make a short presentation to the audience.  In his speech, Mr. Moskofian shared his perspective on the theme, “Nursing isn’t only about administering medications and documenting. The role of the nurse goes beyond that to include promoting mental, psychological and physical health; it is all about providing holistic care to the patient. Besides being agents in changing peoples’ lives, nursing can be powerful in shaping health on the national level. If given the chance, nurses can influence and change health policies to provide better care for patients.”

Congratulations Hratch, on receiving this award.
