Corinne Waked Dargham is interested in studying risk factors of Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) in the Lebanese population. CAD is responsible for most deaths in the world and is caused by a multitude of factors. Environmental factors such as smoking and caffeine intake as well as genetic markers such as factor V, CYP1A1 and CYP1A2 polymorphisms are considered.
Mrs. Dargham’s studies thus reflect genotype interaction with the environment in producing a certain phenotype in the Lebanese population. Her results will enhance the understanding of this dangerous condition and help in protecting individuals who are at a higher risk than others.
